Hipstamatic launches “Action Sampler” function from Live Photos

Retro photo app Hipstamatic has launched a new member-only feature –  Action Sampler Shooting Mode – which harnesses the Live Photos technology of the Apple iPhone to create images inspired by the retro sequential multi-lens 35mm cameras of the 1990s. The Action Sampler Mode allows users to capture moments in a dynamically vintage style, creating GIF-like renditions of old-school photo sequences. The user can scroll through the four images by tilting the device, utilizing the iPhone’s sophisticated gyroscope.

Last year, Hipstamatic  returned to the Apple App Store with a more social-focused app for photo-oriented enthusiasts. The app listing includes the declaration: “BIG NEWS: Hipstamatic now has its own social network. It’s time to photo-share like it’s 2009 again!”
